Competitive intelligence at glance
Competitive intelligence (CI) is the routine gathering and analysis of information from multiple channels. It is the action of defining, collecting, analyzing, and distributing information about products, customers, competitors, and any aspect of the environment necessary to support executives and managers in an organization's strategic decision-making process.

CI means understanding and learning what is happening in the world outside the company to increase its competitiveness. It means learning as much as possible, as early as possible, about one's external environment, including one's industry at large and relevant competitors.
