Some Jeep Cherokee SUVs have been recalled for fire hazard, even with the engines off
The company is recalling some 2014-2016 Cherokee models. Water can enter the tailgate control computer and cause marketplace bali a short circuit that could result in a fire.
The company states that it has not yet developed a patch. Owners will receive notifications starting June 30th.Stellantis says the issue was discovered during a routine review of customer records.
It is not known how many small SUVs caught fire. Stellantis says in documents released Tuesday by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it has 50 customer service records, 23 warranty claims and 21 testimonials following the issue.According to the company, no injuries are known.

Stellantis recalled several identical vehicles in 2015 to fix a similar issue.
